We endeavor to hold a Melanin Mixer four times a year, one per quarter. We seek to have at least one conscious raising/social responsibility presentation and one business presentation per event. December 27, 2008 marked the 3rd annual observance of the Karast Maát Kwanzaa. This is the twelve day ritual observance that combines the seven days of traditional Kwanzaa with five additional days that are added to the beginning starting on December 21st coinciding with the winter solstice. This year’s celebration was held at the beautiful Wilfandel House, which is in the West Adams Historic District of Los Angeles.
